CANDY CORN COOKIES

Morgan and I baked candy corn shaped sugar cookies together. So fun, and they are so cute!

We divided the dough into three sections and used food coloring to dye two of the sections yellow and orange. Then, we lined a loaf pan with wax paper and layered the dough and let it chill overnight in the fridge.

After taking the dough out of the pan, I sliced it into about 1/2 inch strips.

Then, we cut the strips into triangles and baked them.

Morgan's job was lining them up on the cookie sheets.

Aren't they so cute? (They're yummy, too!)

PUMPKIN PRINCESS 2

I love this outfit. I got it when Morgan was 6 weeks old at the Gymboree Outlet in Branson. She wore it for her first Halloween instead of a costume, and of course, Grandma and I had to take lots of pictures. Go HERE to see Pumpkin Princess 1 in her outfit. And here is Pumpkin Princess 2 (a.k.a. Kelsey) sporting the same attire and posing graciously for a photo shoot just like Morgan.

And here is just a comparison picture side by side.

HARVEST PARTY

Grandpa Doug's church had their annual Harvest of Family Fun party on Wednesday night. Morgan had a blast playing the games, eating candy, and watching the puppet show. Kelsey enjoyed a little bit of it until she spit up all over her costume, and Grandma Joy had to take her home.

But isn't she just about the most precious little cow you've ever seen? :)

And my little ladybug! She loved her "tutu."
Can you tell she was a tad bit excited?

My two precious little cuties...

We saw Cousin Molly there, and she was dressed as a ladybug, too! We didn't even plan it that way.

3 MONTH COMPARISON

Here is a comparison shot of Kelsey and Morgan at 3 months old. I just can't get over how similar they look! Sometimes taking care of Kelsey is like dejavu......

MY PRECIOUS GIRLS

Grandma Joy and I ventured out with the girls to attempt 3 year and 3 month (even though she just turned 4 months) pictures . They did GREAT! Pardon the massive amount of pictures, but I just had to share them all, because they all turned out great! It was so hard to pick! We went to Portrait Innovations. I am always pleased with how they turn out.

GRANDPA'S GIRL

Morgan has always been "Grandpa's Girl." I think Kelsey may quickly become "Grandpa's Girl" as well. She loves her Grandpa Doug!

I HIT THE JACKPOT!

This is why I like checking the mail each day. I found 3 big boxes on my front porch yesterday, and look what was inside...

Oh yeah, did I mention that this was all free? :) Yep. It pays to be a part of survey sites that send you things to test and then take a follow up survey on. (That's where I got the Pyrex dish, spatula, and free product coupons.) And I got the bath sets free from Walmart.com after a rebate that I read about on my favorite blog (www.hip2save.com). Yippee!

16 WEEK UPDATE

I'm tired and trying to type this before Kelsey wakes from her nap, so this will be rather brief. I'm just going to list some bullets of noteworthy things....

  • Kelsey weighs 14 lbs. 15 oz.

  • She is getting her bottom teeth......not fun!

  • She is such a happy baby when I go to get her in the mornings...laughing, smiling, talking.

  • Her reflux is getting worse by the day. She is spitting up a lot more and crying when she does.

  • I think we are in the beginnings of Wonder Week 19 (which can start up to three weeks before that). Her naps are short and she cries when you put her down. She is also more fussy and demands more attention lately.

  • She is starting to roll over. She doesn't do it consistently or all the time, but she definitely knows how to do it.

  • I think she also went through a growth spurt here lately. She suddenly was eating all of her 4 oz. bottles quickly, and when I went up to 5 oz on a couple bottles, she drank those down fine, too. The last couple days she has seemed to slow down a bit, though.

  • Like I said, her naps aren't great lately, but luckily she is still sleeping through the night just fine from about 7:30 to 7:00.

  • We dropped the evening catnap the last week or so, as it just seemed so shoved in there at the end of the day. She is a lot more tired by bedtime, and therefore, a bit more crabby. I was afraid that she would be overtired, though, and not sleep as well at night, but so far, that has not been the case.

  • She has started really giggling and laughing at things.

  • Our schedule: Feeds at 7:30, 11:00, 2:30, 5:30, 7:30. Naps at 8:45, 12:30, 4:00. Her waketime is still about 1 hr. 30 minutes, give or take. However, there have been multiple times it's been 2 hours before I get her down. I do feel, though, that her naps aren't as good when her waketimes are that long. She could move to a four hour schedule soon, I think, but I am waiting for her naps to get better again, since she is only napping about 1 - 1.5 hours right now.

A FEW RANDOM PICTURES

Holding Baby Cousin Livvy

Grandma Joy and her two "M&M's" doing one of their favorite activities together.

Morgan loves dressing up these days. On this day, she had on her cheerleading outfit with her Cinderella dress over that and her ladybug wings for good measure! :)

FROM THE MOUTHS OF BABES...

I was having a very hard day yesterday. At one point, Morgan came into the room, and found me crying. She came and gave me a hug and said, "It's okay, Mommy. I'm here to take care of you. I pray for you." Then, she proceeded to kneel down on the floor, fold her hands and pray, "Dear Jesus. Please help Mommy feel better soon. We love you Jesus. Thank you for being our friend. Amen." What an impact that little prayer had on me! I love you, Morgan!

TOT SCHOOL

We have actually done a few tot school type things lately! You can go HERE and HERE to see what we've done.

OUR HARVEST

Jared planted a little garden this summer. It wasn't much, but Morgan had fun with it. They went out tonight to do one last "harvest" of the season.
Morgan loved picking the carrots and onions with Daddy. (Just like she LOVES picking tomatoes at Grandma Joy's house.)

Here is what they came in with! Squash, carrots, and onions. Yum!

She "helped" Daddy wash and peel the carrots, and then proceeded to eat 3 or 4 of them. The girl LOVES carrots!

I guess for our first little garden, it didn't end up doing all that bad. :)
