NO MILK

Well, it's back to measuring out expensive formula and watching carefully what I eat. Mommy had been noticing some minor things lately that caused her to call the specialist. They ended up doing a blood test and officially testing for a variety of food allergies. Yep. Still have my milk allergy. No wonder I have been a bit "off" lately. Mommy feels bad for not catching things sooner and giving me milk products that have been causing me to be uncomfortable. We see the specialist on Tuesday and she said we'd talk about trying other options such as soymilk. (I couldn't handle soy formula as a newborn, but it didn't show up on my lab tests as an immediate allergy. So either I have outgrown that allergy, or it's a delayed allergy for me, meaning that it shows up after being exposed to it for a certain time period. The test doesn't test for those kind. So, we may just have to try it and wait and see...) Mommy is a bit discouraged by it all. Combined with the fact that I have been out of sorts, cranky, whiny, and not sleeping well, she is a bit cranky herself. We have been trying just one nap a day now, and I do actually fall asleep for about 1.5-2 hours, but I have just been a big crank lately, and Mommy doesn't now if I am really "emotionally ready" to go to one nap. The colder, rainy weather hasn't helped. I miss my two walks a day! I hope there are a few more warmer, sunny days here again before fall/winter are here to stay!

STILL A FAVORITE OF MINE

I still love to just sit and pull out all my books and "read" them. I typically do this at least twice a day. While I was "reading" the first book in the video (Brown Bear, Brown Bear), I knew I had missed a page at first, so I had to go back to find it. The third book I looked at was If You're Happy and You Know It....that is why I was clapping. The last book I "read" was Goodnight Moon. You'll hear me say "sh" because my favorite part of the book is when Mommy says "Goodnight to the old lady who is whispering hussshhh" quietly in my ear. I do love my books!

AN EXPANDING VOCABULARY

In the last few days I have added 3 new words to my vocabulary: bubbles, milk ("mil"), and crackers. These just happen to be three of my favorite things these days. As you will see, I can get pretty impatient when I want my milk or a cracker from Mommy. :)

MY FIRST P-FEST!

I got to experience my first ever P-Fest this weekend! I had such a fun time!

One of my favorite parts about the P-Fest was seeing lots of doggies!

At the parade, I got to sit with Mommy's friend, Karen. She even got me my own red balloon!

I can't wait to go again next year when I am big enough to ride all the rides, too!

UPDATES

Here are few things I've been up to lately:
  1. My new favorite foods are grapes and apples. I can even say a "word" that sounds pretty close to "apple" when I want Mommy to give me more.
  2. I am drinking completely 100% whole milk now - no more expensive formula! YEA! Mommy and Daddy are so happy. That means I can now also start experiencing yogurt, cheese, ice cream.....MMMMM! Still haven't tested out eggs yet. Mommy's a bit nervous about that one.
  3. I now am very aware of my new baby cousin, Molly. When I see her picture in my family book or on my picture board, I say, "Mawhey." (Sometimes it comes out sounding more like "mommy" but I am pointing at her picture, so Mommy knows I am talking about my cousin instead of her.) When I see or hear a baby, I say "Mawhey" too, though, thinking that all babies are Molly. :)
  4. I have officially learned how to say "NO". Mommy is oh so thrilled about this new accomplishment. (Yeah, right.)
  5. I am learning more and more animal sounds all the time. I can now say "mow" (meow), "cak, cak" (quack, quack), "heeee" (neigh), "cahdoo" (cock-a-doodle-doo), "ah, ah" (arf, arf), and sometimes I can make piggy noises.
  6. My new favorite book is "Chicka, Chicka, ABC." And guess what letter I always point out at the end....Yep. The A.
  7. I LOVE giving kisses. Mommy LOVES it when I give her kisses and say "mmmmaa." I also like to kiss my stuffed animals as well as pictures in books.
  8. Mommy cannot even eat a sandwich at lunch without me going nuts. I see her bread and get upset if she doesn't let me have some. I still LOVE bread!
  9. I am NOT taking good naps still at all. It's been a month now that I went from a dream napper to .... this. Mommy never knows if I am going to sleep or not. She tends to dread naptime these days. If I sleep in the morning, I will most likely not sleep in the afternoon, or I will often just lay in my crib and talk to myself and play for my naps instead of sleep. There have been many days when I don't sleep in the morning OR afternoon. Mommy thinks maybe it's time to move to one nap a day???? But then again, on Sunday when I was supposed to take just one nap because we had church in the morning, I didn't sleep at all. I used to sleep 3 or 4 hours after church. (Mommy sigh...)

MOMMY'S LITTLE HELPER

Mommy was washing all the floors today. I decided to get in on the action!

BLOWING BUBBLES

As Mommy was looking through pictures today, she found these pictures from a few weeks ago and realized she hadn't posted them yet. We had fun blowing bubbles together!

PUMPKINS, AND FLOWERS, AND HORSES....OH MY!

Today we went with Grandpa Doug, Grandma Joy, Uncle Brad, Aunt Cali, and Cousin Molly to a fun family farm in town. The main purpose of our trip was to take a whole family picture.

I was more interested in the flowers, though, than taking a picture.....

They had LOTS of pumpkins! I had never seen one up close and personal.

I had a grand old time at the farm, because I got to see flowers....
and turkeys....

and geese....

and goats....

and a HORSE!

I even got to touch his nose. This sent me into a fit of giggles.

I think we will have to visit this farm again soon.

WHAT A BIG GIRL!

I have been a bit behind my peers when it comes to rolling over, crawling, pulling up, cruising, etc. But it seems that one day I just suddenly figure out how to do something new, and then I very quickly become a "pro" at it. Just yesterday I figured out the "cruising" thing, and suddenly today Mommy was in the kitchen and came back to find me doing this like an old pro!
